Monday 19 January 2026, at Palazzo della Meridiana

The ceremony for the appointment of the new Ambassadors of Excellence of the Convention Bureau Genova took place on Monday 19 January: prominent personalities in their respective scientific, professional, and institutional fields who contribute to promoting Genoa as a benchmark destination for congresses and events of national and international scope.

A moment of encounter and sharing that saw the participation of institutions, members, and local stakeholders, confirming a path built on collaboration and a shared vision for the city’s development.

«Genoa is an open-air venue, rich in history, culture, and excellence: it is a place that surprises and welcomes those who arrive for both business and tourism», declared Ilaria Alzona, President of Convention Bureau Genova.

«The Ambassadors are fundamental in telling the story of the city and its capacity to host events of great international importance. Our commitment continues to strengthen Genoa’s appeal, also through cultural projects and strategic collaborations».

«The collaboration between institutions, civil society, and local operators creates synergies that strengthen the entire territory, making Genoa increasingly attractive for both congress and leisure tourism», added Giovanni Ferrando, Vice President of CBG.

The growth path of congress tourism is also supported by the recent municipal call dedicated to the sector and by the growing international visibility of the city, included by the New York Times among the 52 places to visit in 2026.

Thanks go to the Comune di Genova - Genoa Municipality for their presence and continuous support for the activities of the Convention Bureau, and to Councillor Tiziana Beghin for the attention and closeness shown to the Ambassadors project.

Thanks to Palazzo della Meridiana for hosting the event and to Nicoletta Vizziano, the hostess, for her hospitality and availability.

A heartfelt thank you also to Capurro Group for the excellent catering service, which contributed to the success of the evening. The Ambassadors Club, active since 2015, thus continues to represent a strategic bridge between Genoa, its excellence, and the world of major events, generating value for the economy and the image of the territory.
